The buyer then can take a loan to pay for the car if they cannot pay for it upfront. Another option is to have the buyer apply for a loan and have the respective banks deal with the loans. If the new owner&#8217;s loan does not pay off your loan, you will have to pay the difference.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2>2 Puspakom inspection<\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\">A used car can only be sold with certified<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\">Puspakom<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\">inspection forms. You will need to b<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\">ring your <strong>MyKad<\/strong> and original <strong>vehicle ownership certificate (VOC)<\/strong> aka car grant. You will also need to fill in several forms. These are:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\"><strong>B5: <\/strong>Fill in this form if the buyer is buying a car that has been fully paid off in cash.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: 400;\"><strong>B7: <\/strong>Fill in this form if the buyer is buying a car with a bank loan. The B5 form is still required.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>B2:<\/strong> Fill in this form if your car&#8217;s road tax has expired for over a year or if the owner is deceased or living overseas.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/carro.co\/my\/blog\/how-to-get-a-puspakom-b5-report\/\">How to get a Puspakom B5 report<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/carro.co\/my\/blog\/dapatkan-borang-b5-puspakom\/\">Versi Bahasa Melayu<\/a>)<\/p>\r\n<h2>3 Transfer of ownership<\/h2>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>To finalise the transfer, you need:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Your MyKad<\/li>\r\n<li>Vehicle Ownership Certificate (VOC)<\/li>\r\n<li>Full name, MyKad number and address of the new owner<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>You will then need to fill in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpj.gov.my\/en\/web\/main-site\/pelesenan-kenderaan-en\/-\/knowledge_base\/tukar-hakmilik\/voluntary-motor-vehicle-transfer-form-by-registered-owner-jpj-k3-\">JPJK3 form<\/a>. Together with your other documents, submit this form at the counter and complete a biometric authentication (thumbprint scan) to complete the process. The JPJ officer will provide you with a confirmation slip. The new owner will use this confirmation slip to complete the car ownership transfer. If you cannot physically pass the confirmation slip to the new owner, a clear digital copy is accepted.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>The new owner can then go to a JPJ branch with his MyKad and the confirmation slip. There the new owner can complete the JPJK3 form the biometric authentication to finalise the car ownership transfer!<\/p>\r\n<h2>Online transfer of ownership<\/h2>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6533\" src=\"https:\/\/carro.co\/my\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/MySikap.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"829\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging-crazy-rabbit.getcarsstaging.com\/my\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/MySikap.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/staging-crazy-rabbit.getcarsstaging.com\/my\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/MySikap-768x332.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>If you do not fancy a long wait at the JPJ office, you could do the transfer online. But first, you need to get a reference number from a JPJ branch. Once you have that, you can visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/public.jpj.gov.my\/public\/login.zul\">MySikap portal<\/a> to begin the transfer.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Seller&#8217;s transfer steps<\/h3>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Log in to MySikap and select KENDERAAN on the homepage<\/li>\r\n<li>Select PERMOHONAN PERTUKARAN HAK MILIK KENDERAAN (PEMILIK BERDAFTAR)<\/li>\r\n<li>Enter the required information:\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Your name<\/li>\r\n<li>Your email address<\/li>\r\n<li>Your car\u2019s registration plate\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>The new owner&#8217;s name<\/li>\r\n<li>The new owner&#8217;s email address<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>Submit your application. Don&#8217;t forget to save or print the confirmation slip!<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<h3>Buyer&#8217;s transfer steps<\/h3>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Log in to MySikap and select KENDERAAN on the homepage<\/li>\r\n<li>Select PERMOHONAN PERTUKARAN HAK MILIK KENDERAAN (PEMILIK BAHARU)<\/li>\r\n<li>Enter the vehicle\u2019s number plate and click next<\/li>\r\n<li>Fill in the required information on the Vehicle Declaration page (Pengisytiharan Kenderaan)<\/li>\r\n<li>Complete the payment to complete the transaction<\/li>\r\n<li>Print out the confirmation slip and take it to the nearest JPJ office to collect the new VOC.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>And that is it! The car is transferred!<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cars with special conditions<\/h2>\r\n<p>If your car has one or more of the below conditions, there are several differences in the transfer process.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Car owned by a foreigner or expatriate<\/h3>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>For foreigners who wish to sell used cars in Malaysia, the car\u2019s loan must be completely paid off prior to sale. The car can then be inspected by Puspakom. In this case, the B5 form will be used.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">E-Hailing cars<\/h3>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>To sell your e-hailing used car, you must first inform your e-hailing company. The company then notifies the <em>Land Public Transport Agency<\/em> to cancel your permit. Only then can the car be brought to\u00a0<em>Puspakom <\/em>for the usual inspections.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Company cars<\/h3>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>For company cars, the process is the same as the private seller\u2019s requirement. However, there are more documents required when it comes to selling a company car. The forms required consist of company registration <strong>forms 9<\/strong> or <strong>13<\/strong>, as well as <strong>form<\/strong> <strong>49<\/strong>.
