Now that fully vaccinated Malaysians are able to travel out of the country freely<\/a>, those living in the Klang Valley might want to assess how to get to KLIA. All options should be considered for what is the best mode of transportation for you.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Getting to KLIA By Car<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Driving<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

By far the most straightforward option, driving your own car means you have total control on when to leave and arrive at the airport. Fatigue is however, something to consider. If you end up stuck in traffic, or if your drive was particularly difficult, you might be tired once you arrive. This would make the rest of your travel more unpleasant.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Grab is a simple but expensive method to get to KLIA. It is direct and you can get one from any part of the Klang Valley. By relegating driving to someone else, this sidesteps the problem of fatigue from driving. However, it also depends on the availability of drivers in your area which affects the price. So, if many people happen to require a Grab driver’s services the same time as you, you might need to pay a little bit more for your trip.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Taxi<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Much like Grab, you won’t need to drive. However it is usually more expensive than Grab. If you have a trusted taxi driver charging reasonable price, go for it. That way you won’t be tired and you won’t have to wait.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Traffic<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Whichever method you choose, be it driving your own car, Grabbing, or taking a taxi, you have to contend with traffic. You might need to plan a route you want to take and tell your grab or taxi driver. In either case, you should still leave early in case of any unforeseen delays.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Two options. Flat price and fixed timetable. Both are unaffected by traffic, though you might need to keep an eye on your luggage. It is much like taking a Grab or Taxi but you would have to get to the station first.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Below are the prices for the train from various locations to KLIA 1 and 2. Trains leave every half an hour from 6 am to 10:10 pm. Do note that children below the age of 6 ride for free but there can only be 3 children per adult.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

KLIA Ekspres from KL Central<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Price: RM 55 for adults. RM 25 for children.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Time: 37 minutes to KLIA. 40 minutes to KLIA 2.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Transit<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Bandar Tasik Selatan<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Price: RM 38.4 for adults. RM 17.3 for children.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Time: 30 minutes to KLIA. 33 Minutes to KLIA 2.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Putrajaya and Cyberjaya<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Price: RM 9.4 for Adults. RM 4.2 for Children.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Time: 19 minutes to KLIA. 22 minutes to KLIA 2.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Salak Tinggi<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Price: RM 4.9 for adults. RM 2.2 for children.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Time: 10 minutes to KLIA. 13 minutes to KILA 2.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All in all, you will have to weigh the pros and cons of the various methods of getting to KLIA. You will have to ask yourself if dealing with traffic and driving is worth it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
