The brand picked up the <\/span><b>\u2018Employee Engagement of the Year\u2019 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Award for its many strategies that were <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">implemented over the last few years to enhance and maintain employee welfare, and <\/span><b>\u2018Team of the Year\u2019 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Award under the Automotive and Transport Equipment Industry category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Malaysia Management Excellence Awards<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a prestigious awards programme that recognises the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">country&#8217;s most exceptional business leaders\u00a0 and honours Malaysia&#8217;s most outstanding leaders, innovators, and teams whose initiatives have brought tangible business results, employee engagement and overall impact to their workforce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">myTukar\u2019s awards come off the back of several notable strategies and initiatives that its People and Culture team have put in place to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">uplift the morale and well-being of its employees. This includes a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">three-pronged strategy that involves upskilling, engagement and process digitisation that is aimed at bringing about the brand\u2019s key mission &#8211; to create a great working environment that brings out the best in employees and where they can apply the knowledge gained, explore new paths and chart their growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In receiving the award, <\/span><b>Chok Oi Sin, Director of HR at myTukar <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said, \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The past few years have been challenging indeed, not just for the automotive industry but for every other sector as well. However, this turbulent period has created a vehicle whereby companies strive to help individuals and teams within their organisation to effectively navigate the challenges ahead. As such, we are grateful and honoured to have received this award. This was truly a team effort from the beginning, and the results in productivity gained in those six months are testament to that.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pandemic had taken a huge toll on numerous industries, forcing numerous closures and a 5.3% unemployment rate in May 2020<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Despite that, myTukar has managed to not only maintain its workforce but also increase its employee intake. Furthermore, the brand\u2019s r<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">evenue per headcount increased +14% in Q1 FY2022 and +37% in Q2 FY2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Derrick Eng, CEO of myTukar <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">further added, \u201cW<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e plan to expand our range of initiatives to ensure myTukar employees\u00a0 feel cared for and supported, as well as\u00a0 to continue creating positive engagement in the workplace.
